Hundreds of University of Minnesota students, neighbors, summer campers and staff joined President Eric Kaler, Goldy Gopher and the University's Alumni Band for an ice cream celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Morrill Act on Friday, July 20 on Northrop Auditorium Plaza. The event was marked by a special appearance by President Abe Lincoln—played by second year theater student Michael Fell—who introduced President Kaler and read Governor Mark Dayton's official proclamation naming July 20, 2012 University of Minnesota Land Grant Sesquicentennial Day.
